Balance of Power is a facilitated simulation workshop in which participants build generation portfolios, bid into a simplified Australian electricity market, and navigate the competing pressures of affordability, reliability, emissions and investment.
Electricity-market decisions involve competing technical, commercial and policy objectives. Balance of Power places participants inside those decisions, allowing them to experience the consequences of different strategies and discuss what those results reveal about the real energy transition.
Across 12 rounds and three escalating eras, participants respond to changing demand, weather, market rules and external events. They operate and expand their portfolios, bid across day, evening and night periods, experience market clearing and system stress, and adapt their strategies as conditions evolve.

Balance of Power was developed by Dr Antonin Demazy de Fortet, Founder and Principal of GG Advisory, drawing on more than 20 years of international experience across energy systems, strategy and emerging technologies.
Antonin holds a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Melbourne and an Executive MBA from ESCP Business School. His experience spans energy strategy, electricity systems, market development and the commercialisation of emerging technologies.
